CDTA, CERIST, Paris Saclay University (France) and the University of Würzburg (Germany), organize under the patronage of the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT) A first spring school on Human-Machine Interaction and Virtual and Augmented Reality, to be held from 23 to 25 April 2017, at the CERIST headquarters.
Themes and Objectives
The omnipresence of virtual reality and the increased reality of computers in all their forms (PCs, tablets, smart phones, etc.) and the popularization of sensors require the development of new modalities of interface and human- Machine Interaction "HMI". This is made possible by the possibilities offered by gestural or vocal interaction or by taking into account emotions, intentions or the social context. We have also witnessed the evolution of multi-modality, which exploits the multi-sensory couplings and user engines, and the real-virtual hybridization, which realizes an integration of elements of these two worlds.
With the emergence of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, the modeling of HMIs constitutes, up to now, a major challenge because many problems remain to be solved, such as the study of human behavior, Awareness of the user, evolution in a critical environment, sharing or co-realization tasks in a collaborative environment.
The objective of this school is to better understand these problems by presenting the different challenges and trends of the HMI in favor of virtual reality and augmented reality.
This school is an opportunity for the target audience (academics, doctoral students and industrialists) to exchange their experiences, thus identifying new avenues of research and encouraging collaboration. Participants in this event will contribute to the scientific reflections stemming from the debates around the themes of the school.
